The thing about having a kit bag of tech stuff is that it's full of cables, adaptors and other such things too. In my bag, these always used to get just chucked in a pocket, along with all the smaller items like memory cards, spare batteries and the like. Retrieving them became a matter of digging around until the required thing was found.
Then I discovered cable grids.
Available on Amazon in a whole variety of sizes, cable grids are rigid boards (sometimes with a pocket on the back) with a criss-cross of elastic. Weaved differently across the whole area, they are perfect for holding all sorts of items of different sizes. The more you put on them, the tighter the elastic becomes and the more securely everything is held. The picture above really illustrates the concept best.
Not the most exciting bit of kit in the world, but supremely useful, especially for tidy freaks.
